Chelmsford
Chelmsford is the largest settlement in eastern England's Chelmsford district and Essex county town. It is situated in the London commuter belt, about 30 miles (48 km) north-east of London's notional centre at Charing Cross, and about 35 km (22 miles) from Colchester. The city's urban area has a population of around 112,000, while the district has a population of 168,310
Economy
Chelmsford is a major city with about 80,000 workers. There are three shopping centres of medium size, High Chelmer, Bond Street and The Meadows. Education
Chelmsford is also home to the Anglia Ruskin University (formerly known as Anglia Polytechnic) and the Chelmsford County High School and King Edward VI Grammar School. Chelmsford College is the city's leading provider of further education.
