Six Sigma Is Here For The Long Run

Over the past few years, it has been debated by many professionals old and young about the ‘death’ of Six Sigma. Yet, the methodology and its fans just keep on growing. In fact, Lean Six Sigma has become so popular that it is now taught around the globe on a daily basis.

The truth is Six Sigma Training will never leave the business world.

Why?

Well, why would it? This is the one and only methodology which literally breeds perfection.

Indeed many individuals believe that the Six Sigma methodology isn’t right for their company. However, the masses disagree and more companies are implementing its techniques every single day.

But, how has Six Sigma lived through the recession? Why is it still here today?

Well, Six Sigma took its first breath when Motorola gave birth to it back in 1986 so has a great deal of experience in the ever-changing world of business as it has been around for a good few years. The whole point of Six Sigma was to create a brand new, innovative manufacturing process which would ultimately reduce any chance of finding any defects in any system in use. Moreover, over the year Lean Six Sigma has been named a ‘metric, methodology and management system’ which enables all control to be kept over each and every process no matter the size or stature of the company involved. Those individuals who have been on the Six Sigma Training Course and have gained the Six Sigma Certification are considered experts in the subject of Six Sigma. However, amongst these Six Sigma certified individuals lies a hidden hierarchy and this hierarchy is based upon the level of expertise in which the individual has. This hierarchy is determined by different coloured belts which change as the individual progresses throughout the Six Sigma Methodology.

These belts are as follows :

The Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training Course enables individuals to be a member of the Six Sigma team but unable to lead any such project. An individual with the yellow belt certification will usually be in charge of process mapping.

The Six Sigma Green Belt Training Course will teach individuals the development part of the Six Sigma methodology. This qualification will teach the professional how to be the leader of smaller projects and will, therefore, work primarily in project development.

The third stage is the Six Sigma Black Belt Training Course which ultimately teaches the professional to be the leader of the project. This course will help individuals have a clear understanding of everything to do with Six Sigma and how to execute each project efficiently.

There is also the Six Sigma Master Black Belt Training Course which enables the individual to be the coach and oversee each project whilst also coaching other members of the Six Sigma profession into developing their skills.

Lean Six Sigma has become so versatile over the years that many professionals are deciding to take the Six Sigma Course. The Six Sigma methodology often makes the headlines and therefore causes much of a stir amongst the professional field, causing more and more organisations to go in for the training course.

Lean Six Sigma is not just about learning heavy topics and having to remember the skills. But it is also about using the knowledge you already have in order to create a more efficient and ultimately successful business.

So, in short Lean Six Sigma is not going anywhere for a very long time, It is here to stay.
