Achieve Perfection With Six Sigma Training

Six Sigma training is the new age mantra for attaining near perfection in your products and processes. So what exactly is six sigma? Well, it is a methodology that aims at reducing errors and variation to a minimum so that the perfect piece of product or process can be produced. It was originally developed by Motorola in 1985 and since then has evolved and been widely adopted across various industries. The main aim is to improve the quality of the process through the identification and removal of errors that have occurred. This greatly minimises the variability in the manufacturing process of a product.

Lean Six Sigma certification was originally intended for small private organisations but with the passage of time and its success rate, it has been deployed by government organizations.  Since its inception, six sigma has firmly established a foothold in the professional arena and various organisations across the globe have adopted its methods and profited and gained success in their organization.

Six Sigma processes fall under two categories:

DMAIC-Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control-its focus is on improving existing processes which fall short of set standards.

DMADV-Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify-This emphasizes the development of new processes and products at a Six Sigma level-based approach to quality.

The DMAIC consists of five stages:

Define, the goals of projects and customer specifications.

Measure,  key features of the current process and collection of related data.

Analyse, the root causes of defection.

Improve, on the current process using data analysis.

Control, by being proactive and preventing problems before they occur.

The DMADV consists of five stages:

Define, goals which are in sync with customer demands.

Measure and identify CTQ(Characteristics which are critical to quality)

Analyse, to develop alternatives.

Now an explanation of how the various belts work in the training course. The yellow belt is the ‘starters’ belt and the first one to be achieved. Once the yellow belt in this training has been achieved you will have the onus of carrying out strategies which are devised by six sigma and find new routes to implement them in a practical work environment. The next level up is the six sigma green belt training . On accomplishing this you will be in charge of the bulk six sigma related work that occurs in the organization. The six sigma black belt is a leadership profile which enables you to take charge of projects that will be taking place. The most advanced level of achievement in six sigma is the master black belt which has a great responsibility profile and this will e for the project manager or the supervisor profile of the project.

A six sigma certification involves learning the relevant syllabi, clearing a written proficiency test and being able to demonstrate the practical application to real work conditions. There are a number of accredited and widely recognised institutes that offer these courses and cater to individual needs. The training is a blended approach of online and classroom training. The tests are administered by the training institutes or the businesses hiring them. With this information at your fingertips, you are in a well-informed position to decide to go for a lean six sigma training course. So, go for it!
