Swindon

This is a large town in the county of Wilshire. It has a population of 2,21,996. The population increased over the years due to the Town development act in the year 1952.

Swindon’s railway station is located between London Paddington and Bristol. Swindon residents are known as Swindonians. The national monument record centre, the English Heritage, The National Trust Headquarters are all part of Swindon.

Transport

Over the centuries, the town has developed into a full-fledged transport hub at the junction of the Roman roads. Swindon railway station was opened in 1842. This is located at Swindon junction. Till the year 1895 each and every train used to stop for 10 minutes so as to change locomotives.
