Dunfermline
Dunfermline is a town and is located 3 miles from the northern shore of the firth of forth. The town has a population of 50,380. This city provides a lot of employment and is focussed on the service sector. Sky UK is the largest employer. Best Western and Amazon are the other large employers.
Transport
There are two railway stations in the town, namely, Dunfermline Town which is located to the south of the Town centre and Dunfermline Queen Margaret is located to the east of the town and is very close to the Queen Margaret Hospital. Dunfermline has a major airport located 13 miles to the south of the town and is known as the Edinburgh airport.
Education
The town has fourteen primary schools and four secondary schools. The oldest secondary school in the town is the Dunfermline High School. This school is originated in 1816. Fife college provides further education to the Dunfermline Town and this school is funded by Andrew Carnegie who in turn named it after his uncle George Lauder.
